Day Art Tours are organized by the Women’s Committee of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.
Worcester Art Museum
Our visit to the Worcester Art Museum will include an exploration of Coming Away: Winslow Homer and England, an exhibit developed around the two iconic Homer paintings The Gale (1883-93) and Hark! The Lark (1882), exploring the artist’s time in Cullercoats, England. We will enjoy a personal guided tour of this comprehensive group of oils made during or emerging directly from Homer’s time abroad.
A luncheon served by the museum café will feature a choice of chicken or tuna salad. We will dine in two services to allow the intimate café to accommodate our group.
You are also invited to enjoy the museum’s outstanding permanent collection, which includes such American artists as Mary Cassatt, Childe Hassam, John Singer Sargent, Whistler and Bierstadt, just to name a few, and the exceptional Arms and Armor collection revivals that of The Met Cloisters. Visit the museum shop to enjoy the beautiful treasures available there, as well.
$105, $95 Members; includes transportation, admission, guided tour, lunch, and gratuities.
